Fan favorite Sean O'Malley had a disappointing bout in his last matchup after Pedro Munhoz's quite the fight after a controversial eye-poke. Luckily it led to a no contest. However, one of UFC's rising stars is already preparing for his next fight, as the organization has matched him up against Petr Yan.
ESPN MMA makes the announcement as Sean O'Malley filled Ryan Clark in during an interview. The two Bantamweight stars are set to fight on October 22 for UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi. This is the biggest fight of O'Malley's career, as he's squaring up against the former Bantamweight Champion.

UFC 280 is going to be a massive card. O'Malley fighting Yan is a wild matchup and would likely be the main event on most cards. However, they'll be fighting on the same night as Belal Muhammad vs. Sean Brady and Charles Oliveira vs. Islam Makhachev. We'll see how it plays out, but this is a huge fight for both Sean O'Malley and Petr Yan.
A victory for the fan-favorite knockout artist will give him a massive leap up the Bantamweight rankings. The former champion won't be an easy bout, even though he lost his last matchup against Aljamain Sterling. This UFC fight between O'Malley and Yan should be incredibly entertaining as both fighters will bring the heat in Abu Dhabi.
