Former UFC Women's Bantamweight champion Miesha Tate recently announced that she will be coming out of retirement, much to the delight of UFC President Dana White. While the promotion's head honcho was thrilled to get Cupcake back to the octagon, he couldn't help but share a classic “I told you so” moment with the 34-year-old MMA superstar.

Tate's nose got busted pretty bad after losing the title to current champion Amanda Nunes back in 2016. White advised Tate to not get her nose operated up until she decides to quit MMA for good. Tate did walk away from the sport in 2018 and even signed on as an executive for rival promotion ONE Championship.

However, the itch to fight again returned, causing White to remember his earlier interaction with Tate and rub her nose into it (pun intended).

“I told her don't do it, I'll fix your nose when you're done,” Dana White recalled to TMZ Sports. “[but] she did it.

“Her and I haven't talked about this but big mistake and over the last five years obviously she's given her nose plenty of time to heal.”

It didn't take long for White to have a comeback fight lined-up for the former champion, as Tate is scheduled to take on #12 ranked bantamweight Marion Reneau on July 17.

Miesha Tate, of course, rose to prominence following her bitter rivalry with Ronda Rousey, right around the time the UFC began opening a weight class for female fighters. While she lost both her fights against Rousey, Tate would still eventually capture UFC gold when she defeated Holly Holm via a rear-naked choke at UFC 196.

Tate has made it no secret that she intends to make a run for the title in her highly-anticipated return. However, her opponent, Reneau, is renowned for her striking so we'll have to wait and see how her surgically-operated nose holds up after a four-year lay-off from fighting.
