Amanda Ribas and Michelle Waterson have been booked against each other in the past with the bout originally set for UFC 257. The fight didn't happen as Waterson was forced to pull out of the originally scheduled contest.

Michelle Waterson is 1-3 in her last four fights and is coming off of a main event loss to Marina Rodriguez. Before that, she beat Angela Hill by decision in September 2020.

Amanda Ribas is 3-1 in her last four fights dating back to 2020. She beat Virna Jandiroba at UFC 267 and lost to Marina Rodriguez at UFC 257 earlier in 2021.
