Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has been supporting his sons, Gabriel Silva and Kalyl Silva through their kickboxing venture. Things started off very well when Kalyl won his debut with a big knockout.

Unfortunately, the former UFC man had to watch as his next son's fight didn't go so well. Gabriel Silva was on the receiving end of a big knockout.

Knockouts are part of the game and these things tend to happen in combat sports, especially in the UFC. Kickboxing is especially dangerous as there is no ground game and the fight remains standing with many weapons available in the striking department.

Anderson Silva spent his UFC career as a dangerous striker that put on viral knockouts and dominated the competition. Now he will be looking to help his son move forward and deal with the unfortunate event.

The loss happened in the first round as Gabriel Silva took many punches against the ropes, something his father used to do in the UFC. He found himself trapped and was caught by a big hook that dropped him instantly.

“I knew that I had to stay on him, I couldn’t let him recover,” his opponent Vincent Familari said in his post-fight interview via MMAFighting. “I mean, the guy’s good. He could easily beat me, but God was with us on this victory, He blessed us. Much respect to my opponent, his camp and everybody else, but we did it. We pulled through.”

Gabriel Silva will be hoping to bounce back quickly after taking the right amount of time off. Former UFC champion Anderson Silva will be there to help.
