Brad Tavares and Brendan Allen have their next fights booked as they're set to meet on December 4. The two were both hoping to come back before the end of the year and they got their wish.
The fight was announced by Allen on social media and then confirmed by MMAJunkie.
The matchup makes a lot of sense as Brendan Allen was hoping for a ranked opponent next. That's exactly what he got in the form of #13 ranked Brad Tavares.
Tavares will be looking to add to his current win streak after defeating Antonio Carlos Junior and Omari Akhmedov, both by decision victory. The wins helped erase the memory of losses to current champion Israel Adesanya and hyped prospect Edmen Shahbazyan back in 2019 and 2018.
He last fought in January and July and he'll look to round out a solid year in December. Three fights a year is usually what fighters like to aim for, granted they can avoid injuries and other things that can derail their schedules.
Allen is coming off of a similar 2021 himself as he boasts two victories with one by submission and one by decision. He'll be looking to book a place in the middleweight rankings.
He handed Punahele Soriano his first career professional loss back in July when he beat him by unanimous decision. Before that, he submitted Karl Roberson with a rare ankle lock in April.
The fight is currently booked for December 4 and is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on a Fight Night event.
