It has been a few weeks since Cain Velasquez was arrested for attempted murder. The former UFC heavyweight champion had not spoken out on the incident and was handling things behind the scenes.
The former UFC heavyweight champion released a statement on social media after a recent hearing. Cain Velasquez made sure to thank everyone for the love he received and urged victims to come forward.
“To everyone that has expressed your support, my family and I will never be able to thank you enough. From the bottom of our hearts and the depths of our souls, we are forever grateful for your love,” UFC veteran Velasquez wrote on Twitter.
“Your selfless gestures and kind words have given me strength in my darkest times. This story is complex and slowly unraveling as we speak.
“To the true victims of this case, may God give you the strength to come forward. Though it is most difficult to relive the pain that has happened to you, in speaking the truth, justice will be served and your own true healing will start.
“I will never stop helping or loving my community and all of you. Thank you for loving me,” the former UFC fighter wrote.
Cain Velasquez is currently in jail with no bail. He faces ten different charges and could be looking at serious jail time if he is found guilty. The former UFC fighter has not competed in MMA for three years and had been dappling in pro wrestling before the infamous incident happened, it is not clear what his future holds.
