Shavkat Rakhmonov is coming off of an incredible knockout win at UFC Vegas 47. He's also managed to draw comparisons with Khamzat Chimaev, another hyped prospect from Eastern Europe.

Shavkat Rakhmonov has been linked with Khamzat Chiamev for a long time and many are hoping to see them fight. The UFC welterweight was asked about it after his last fight.

“It’s just annoying, getting reminded of a certain individual all the time,” he said in an interview following his win. “I’m saying wait, we’ll see when the time comes. He will win some fights, I will win some fights. And then we’ll meet. Maybe our fight will be title bout at that point.”

A fight between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC would make for an interesting affair. The problem is the fight would kill off an important prospect at welterweight.

Khamzat Chimaev is currently rumored to be taking on Gilbert Burns at an upcoming UFC event. The fight isn't official but Shavkat Rakhmonov thinks it would be a good fight for him.

“I don’t know, I think it’s a good fight for Chimaev,” Shavkat said. “It’s a necessary one for him, because he wants to get to the top fast. If Chimaev wins, he gets there. If Burns wins, he’s still in kind of a losing position….”

Shavkat Rakhmonov is set for big things in his next UFC outing after scoring a huge knockout. It will be interesting to see who the promotion chooses to match him up with.
