Tom Aspinall is set to take on Curtis Blaydes in a big fight to potentially figure out who is next for UFC champion Francis Ngannou. The Englishman may not have gotten the memo though.
Tom Aspinall was recently on The MMA Hour where he talked about his upcoming fight with Curtis Blaydes at UFC London. The fight seems to have title implications but not for Aspinall apparently.

I’ve got a lot more work to do. I’ve got more proving. I don’t want to be one of these like, people who gets here by talking. That is not me.”
“To be honest with ya, I struggle with a lot of MMA fighters these days”
“I’ve got small children and I see the same things in the small children. Just fighting for attention all the time. I just don’t want to be that guy. I want to be the guy who everyone’s like, ‘fuck, I don’t want to fight him.'”
Francis Ngannou is not on Tom Aspinall's radar but Curtis Blaydes currently is. The main event of UFC London is a tough one the Englishman admits.
“Curtis Blaydes is probably the toughest fight in the division for me stylistically.”
“That pushes me to a whole new level, mate. That pushes me to levels I’ve never been before and that’s what I need. If I’m with someone that’s going to make me comfortable, I’m going to stay exactly where I am and do the exact same work I’ve been doing. If you’re going to give me someone that I think is a scary fight, and you’re going to give me fear…. You don’t want to see me scared because I end up doing stuff like I did in the O2 last time I fought.”
