As he eyes another statement return in the UFC, Nate Diaz got a surprise call-out from Ben Askren.

UFC president Dana White has ended all buzz  about Nate Diaz making a return to the UFC once again by confirming that the MMA legend has one more fight remaining in his current deal with the promotion.

While Diaz's opponent has not been named yet, former UFC welterweight Ben Askren made his pitch on social media.

According to Askren, who never tasted a win since stopping former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 235, the match will be ideal since he “sucks” in boxing and Diaz does too in MMA.

“Nate is right, I suck at boxing. He sucks at MMA. If he wants me to prove it I can be in the USADA pool tomorrow,” Askren wrote on Twitter. “Would be happy to be the last fight on his contract.”

After losing his last two fights under the UFC banner, Askren took on YouTuber-turned-pro boxer Jake Paul in a boxing match in April. However, he failed to put on a thrilling performance once again and was stopped via TKO.

Now, Diaz is also being linked to a scrap with Jake Paul after the pair engaged in a brief Twitter exchange.

Diaz is coming off back-to-back losses in the UFC but his last performance against Leon Edwards certainly left fans yearning for his return once again.

It can be recalled that the 36-year-old was dominated by Edwards almost the entire fight but still managed to almost score a knockout in the dying seconds of the final round.
