The world of college football is concerned about two things at the moment: getting their squads ready for the season and battling it out with one another for recruits. USC football is one of the few programs that have their own gravity in terms of finding star-studded players. The most recent top NFL Draft pick, Caleb Williams, even came from Lincoln Riley's Trojans system. However, some squads in this realm do not have that luxury which means they have to resort to other measures in notching recruits. Jalen Ramsey of the Miami Dolphins particularly did not like these types of practices.

A program will definitely pull in high school prospects due to how great their coaches were in their playing days and how they've preserved a lot of sage wisdom. USC football has this and continues the legacy of creating elite products due to their system. They could have even had Jalen Ramsey before he eventually spurned the Trojans for Florida State. With the introduction of the NIL, some prospects are choosing to forego these great programs in favor of getting a bigger cash opportunity.

This phenomenon does not sit well with the Dolphins' defensive menace. He even went on to blast it on X.

I know the college landscape is different with NIL but I hope these recruits keep the priorities in order. Being coached by men who have proven to be good coaches & will help your game be as successful as possible should still be the key!…I’m all for getting that (cash emoji) but that shouldn’t be the first piece of conversation, that’s all. I hope these young guys doing it right & have the right guidance. Much love.

Dolphins CB gives a lot of love to USC's premier coach and other big names

Jalen Ramsey further hammered down his point by giving love to the masterminds in the college game. Coach Patrick Surtain, Charles Kelly, and Tim Walton among others were the coaches that the Dolphins cornerback shouted out.

I think of coaches like Surtain at FSU coaching the DBs. That’s a no-brainer in my opinion. Not only did he play at the highest level but his son is a top dawg currently, he coached in the league, & now doing it in college. I think of coaches like Charles Kelly at Auburn now but was extremely important to me & Derwin's development at FSU. Henny obviously has been around & directly coached the absolute best on an NFL level. Prime of course can give valuable lessons & coaching. Tim Walton at Ohio State coached me in the league along with others who had a lot of success under his coaching & lessons. I’m sure there are a few I’m missing & a lot more really good coaches, but I’m just venting lol.

It is worth noting that the Dolphins CB had this idea dawn on him while he was talking with one of Lincoln Riley's most prominent assistants, Coach Eric Henderson. The USC football coach even agreed with Ramsey's declaration.

NIL might be a good way to earn in their four years of college or more. If the focus is to notch a spot in the NFL, young prospects may want to take Ramsey's advice.
