Jazz fans are taking every possible measure to attempt to keep Gordon Hayward in Utah — including renting out billboards.

Although this hasn’t been the best method to keep free agents from leaving their teams in the past, a group of fans have organized a GoFundMe page with the goal of raising $5,000 in order to rent a billboard. If the page receives adequate funding, the advertisement will be placed between the team’s home arena and their practice facility throughout the month of May, featuring a picture of Hayward emblazoned with the word “STAYWARD.”

The fans were hopeful that they’d raise $5,000 easily, and added a stipulation that any funds exceeding $5,000 would be donated towards a cancer research fundraiser that Hayward supports.

Hayward has been a staple of the Jazz after being drafted ninth overall by the team in 2010. He has continued to grow for Utah, posting a career year of statistics this past season with an average of 21.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and a steal for the team.
