The NBA’s trade deadline is the rare singular off-the-court event in the league that has the ability to break so many fans’ hearts. Just ask this Utah Jazz fan, who woke up following a surgery, still groggy from the effects of anesthesia, to the news that Rodney Hood had been traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Jae Crowder and Derrick Rose.

Here was among Darren Muir’s first words after learning of the transaction that his favorite team had just finished:

“I can't believe we traded Rodney Hood for Jae Crowder and Derrick Rose. Derrick Rose sucks.”

This man is a true NBA fan. While other folks would ask how the surgery went or what the status of their internal organs is after an operation, this dude opted to analyze a shocking trade that had just transpired. In breaking down the deal, however, he himself broke down in tears, as neither Crowder nor Rose are the kind of pieces that will boost the Jazz’s chances of winning a title.

The fan also said that he would have been happy that the Jazz got Crowder and Rose if the two were still flashing the same forms they were having during their days with the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls, respectively, and not the type of performances they had during their brief stints with the Cavs.

That was smart analysis right there, especially considering that it’s not that easy to arrange one’s thoughts while still feeling the effects of anesthesia. In any case, it seems that Muir has learned his lesson.
