The Tennessee Volunteers made some serious waves on Monday when they received a huge commitment from 5-star quarterback Nicholaus Iamaleava, widely considered to be one of the better overall prospects in the recruiting class. Iamaleava announced the major move on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. Iamaleava spoke about the decision via 247sports, citing the Volunteers' coaching staff as a big reason for his decision to play football in Tennessee.

“I really believe in those coaches,” Iamaleava said. “Development is big for me and I know [QBs\ coach [Joey] Halzle and [head] coach [Josh] Heupel can get the best out of me and help me reach my dreams of playing in the NFL.

Nicholaus Iamaleava spoke about Volunteers' head coach Josh Heupel and quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle, saying that the two can help him continue his development and help him “reach his goal of playing in the NFL.”

Iamaleava had no shortage of big-school options at his disposal, as he was reportedly considering Oregon, Miami, Georgia, UCLA, and Alabama. It speaks to the confidence the 5-star recruit has in the Volunteers' program and offense that he chose to come there over some bigger name schools.

Not only that, but Iamaleava told 247sports that he wanted to make his decision early on in the process to give Tennessee a chance to build a strong team around him. Iamaleava has a big frame, strong arm and can take off and pick up big chunks of yardage with his legs.

He has all the tools to not only become an elite NFL prospect one day but to also take Tennessee to new heights in the SEC.
