Facebook acquired Oculus back in 2014 but it never evolved into a hardware developer with its own impressive shows for its exclusive games. Oculus developed its own reputation as the name in Virtual Reality technology but that was ages prior to the big social media company acquisition. Now, 9 years since its founding, Oculus finally takes the active approach to promote its games. The VR developer announced its first special video game showcase to feature all of its upcoming games.

AN OCULUS FIRST

Oculus posted an official blog post to tell its loyal users about the upcoming special event. The company plans to focus on showing “never-before-seen footage” for fans to get excited about. It's about time for an official game showcase focused on VR games. Several other hardware developers already engage in regular updates for their games. Finally, Oculus gets on board the hype train to support its unique game library.

“This is our first event wholly dedicated to the stellar games across the Oculus Platform. You can expect new updates to fan-favorite titles, never-before-seen footage from some unreleased games, and a few surprises in store.”

The VR company confirmed the participation of Cloudhead Games, Ready At Dawn, ILMxLAB, and several other game developers. Players get a great look at Pistol Whip, Lone Echo II, and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge. There could very well be other games and developers joining in on the fun next week. Next week's special game showcase could become the first event in a long line of special events for the VR headset makers.
