Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen curry is at the top of his game in his team's quest for a second straight title. However, before he became a back-to-back league MVP, Curry was dazzling the NCAA as a member of little-known Davidson College.

Stephen Curry rose to prominence during his last season in school and those who were paying close enough attention got to see early glimpses of a future NBA superstar. Among those to do so was Warriors legend Chris Mullin, who says he could not turn away from watching Curry play versus West Virginia at Madison Square Garden, according to Drew Shiller of NBC Sports:

“I watched him coming out of college. I really thought he was gonna be an All-Star player,” Mullin said. “I watched him at the Garden, and he didn't really have a good game but I couldn't take my eyes off him.

Mullin's praise is very telling, considering Curry largely struggled with his shot all night. Although he finished with 27 points and 10 assists, he shot 9-of-27 from the field and 4-of-16 from 3-point land. Despite his shooting struggles, he still managed to lead Davidson to a clutch 68-65 victory.

Needless to say, it was more than enough keep the attention of the former NBA legend. Although Chris Mullin was out of the Warriors front office just a few months before the 2009 NBA Draft, Golden State still did not hesitate to take Stephen Curry with the seventh overall pick.
