The Golden State Warriors recent NBA Finals victory has people reminiscing on their dynasty. The Dubs have now won the championship in four out of the past eight years. However, some NBA experts and players disagree on who the main star was in year's past.  CJ McCollum recently fired back at Charles Barkley over a controversial Kevin Durant take.

Barkley declared that Kevin Durant was not the ‘bus driver' for the Warriors during his time in Golden State.

“Before KD gets that great respect from all the old heads, he's gonna have to win a championship as the guy, as the bus driver,” Barkley said. “Listen, he joined that team (Warriors) that had already won a championship. So no disrespect, that's just a fact. But until he is the guy on a championship team, we aren't ever going to give him the respect that he probably deserves.”

CJ McCollum then shared a completely different perspective on ESPN's “Get Up” in reference to Kevin Durant.

“I strongly, strongly disagree with Charles Barkley here,” McCollum said. “Obviously he's (Barkley) a legend in his own right, he's a first ballot Hall of Famer. He was the bus driver, however, he didn't win a championship. I think in KD's case it was different. Obviously, he joined a very, very good team with a championship caliber roster, very deep. But he was the bus driver of that team. Obviously, you got Steph Curry, two-time MVP, unanimous. But he (Durant) averaged 30 points, 7 rebounds, 4.5 assists in his 15 games in his Finals career.”

McCollum continued.

“His (Durant) resume speaks for itself. There is no blemishes on it.”

Kevin Durant's legacy has been in question ever since July 4, 2016, when he signed with the Warriors. Since then, many have called him a sellout. Others, such as McCollum, believe KD joined a great team and took them to new heights.

This will be an intriguing debate moving forward. Durant can silence the critics by adding another NBA Finals victory to his resume.
