Golden State Warriors guard D'Angelo Russell made history with his 52-point performance on Friday night, becoming just the fourth player in NBA history to score 50 points in one of his first 10 games with a new team, per Eric Ting of The San Francisco Chronicle.

The other three? Kyrie Irving, Brandon Jennings and Wilt Chamberlain.

Talk about an eclectic mix of players there.

Russell made 19 of his 37 field-goal attempts, going 7-of-17 from three-point range and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line in what ended up being a 125-119 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

He also added nine rebounds, five assists, three steals and a couple of blocks to his stat sheet.

In six games this season overall, Russell is averaging 24.5 points, 6.2 assists and 4.2 boards over 32 minutes per game while shooting 42.5 percent from the floor, 34.6 percent from beyond the arc and 75 percent from the charity stripe.

The Warriors acquired Russell in a sign-and-trade with the Brooklyn Nets back in July.

Russell, who played his collegiate basketball at Ohio State, was originally selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the second overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.

He spent two mostly disappointing seasons with the Lakers before being traded to the Nets during the summer of 2017.

The 23-year-old resided in Brooklyn for two years, playing in just 48 games during his first season with the club due to injuries. Last year, Russell had a breakout season of sorts, registering 21.1 points, 7.0 assists and 3.9 boards across 30.2 minutes as night while making 43.4 percent of his shots, 36.9 percent of his triples and 78 percent of his foul shots.

Golden State is just 2-7 thus far this season.
