Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic dominated for much of Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors, putting his team on his back in an attempt to get the back in the series. But when it came down to winning time, Draymond Green and the Warriors got the last laugh.
With the Warriors up five with around 40 seconds left, the Nuggets badly needed a basket to help extend the game. Instead, Green picked Jokic's pocket, leading to a Jordan Poole free throw on the other end to help put the game away. The Dubs wound up winning 118-113 to go up 3-0 in the first-round series.
The Warriors star did this with five fouls, and Green later gave a thorough breakdown of his mindset during the play and why he wasn't worried about picking up a sixth foul:
.@Money23Green breaking down his game-clinching steal from Jokic last night is beautiful🤌

Green is a basketball savant and one of the smartest players in the NBA today. The way he's able to process the game so quickly and make those kinds of split-second decisions is so impressive, and it's why he's one of the best defensive players of all time. If he had been healthier this season, he easily could have bagged his second Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Green has made life miserable for Jokic all series. While the potential two-time MVP is still putting up big numbers, he hasn't had as much success against Green and has been noticeably frustrated at times by the Warriors big man's physicality.
While Green didn't win Defensive Player of the Year this season, he'll gladly just take another NBA title instead. The Warriors are looking like a favorite to win it all, thanks in large part to Green's brilliance.
