Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green recently admitted that he's fallen in love with the sport of basketball again this season. The Warriors are finally back to their winning ways and the three-time champ has definitely looked a lot better as of late as he continues to be the team's leader.

After another impressive win on Sunday night against the Toronto Raptors, Green shared what's been different for him this season as the 31-year old seems to have rekindled his affection for the game.

“I've just kind have found that love again,” Green said after the 119-104 win against the Raptors (via Anthony Slater of The Athletic). “You kind of go through a lot of sh-t and that love wanes a little bit. I've just found that love and that joy for the game [again] and I'm just enjoying playing basketball and controlling what I can control. A point of emphasis for myself this year was to simply control what I can control. That means on the court, with the referees, off the floor – that's just a step in my life and I think it shows on the basketball court,”

Green's numbers have never been overwhelming but real basketball fans know that his effect on the game is something that has been highly underrated for the past few years. That being said, he is averaging a near triple-double this season with 8.1 points per game, 7.5 boards, and 7.6 dimes per outing. On Sunday night, he tallied a game-high of 14 rebounds and eight assists to help Golden State win their 15th win in 17 games.

The three-time All-Star has grown to be one of the most unique leaders on the floor for the Warriors, setting the table as a pseudo point guard for head coach Steve Kerr. His maturity, especially this season, has been off the charts and, with the Warriors winning all but two games so far this season, he's been the leader the team needs him to be.

With the Warriors struggling these past few seasons after dominating the league, Green admitted that he hasn't played well and shared that he's motivated to get back on that level this season as he tries to push Dub Nation back to playoff contention.

“I want to win. I want to be DPOY again and I want to be an All-Star again,” Green added. “That is motivating me because a lot of people had counted me out. It's the same mistake people made before when I first came into the league. A lot of people doubted me and doubted me again and that's fuel to the fire,”

The former DPOY and six-time All-Defensive Team Member has always played with a chip on his shoulder. And, with Stephen Curry absolutely rolling this season and Klay Thompson waiting in the wings, it's clear that Draymond Green and the rest of the Golden State Warriors are taking this season personally as they try to prove to everybody that they're far from done.

Right now, the Warriors are at the top of the NBA with a 15-2 record with the team still not at a hundred percent in terms of their personnel. It might not be the best idea to count out these Warriors.
