A late game exchange between Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant and frontcourt partner Draymond Green carried into the locker room Monday night after an overtime loss to the LA Clippers, as teammates loudly confronted Green for his poor decision-making on the final play of regulation, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The scene was described as one of most intense of this Steve Kerr era, and the organization is working through the aftermath of this blowout.

The confrontation didn't come to blows, but it was enough to get eyebrows raising for a team environment that has been considered basketball heaven for all involved in Kerr's four-year tenure at the helm.

After the 121-116 overtime loss to the Clippers, some witnesses described the closed-door exchange as one of the most intense of this Warriors era. No one had to be separated, no player left his side and no hint of physicality loomed in the setting, sources said.

The two All-Stars were seen arguing intensely on the bench after Green committed a costly turnover at the end of regulation, choosing to race up-court, ignoring Durant, who called for the ball with 3.3 seconds left on the clock.

The Warriors had rallied with a 16-3 run to close out the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime and could have had a better chance with Durant at the wheel, but wound up with another reckless decision from Green.

Green reportedly forcefully defended himself, which only escalated the volume of the argument. Durant was visibly upset when Green inhaled a defensive rebound in the final moments of the knotted affair, only to lose control and head into overtime without attempting a shot. Durant was seen clapping his hands, an apparent call for the ball.

Veteran point guard Shaun Livingston shot down any fumes of a blowup between the two All-Stars in the postgame, noting it's part of the frustration that comes from trying to win a game.

This is hardly the first time Durant and Green have had choice words for each other, as Green was critical of Durant's tentative offensive approach during an early-season loss to the Sacramento Kings during the 2016-17 season.
