The Warriors had been playing at a completely different level above every other team with their play on both ends of the court. In fact, they held an average point differential of plus-13.5 points per game in the playoffs, which was the second-best mark that only trailed the 1971 Milwaukee Bucks (plus-14.5).
Cleveland did seem to have things in control late in Game 3, but a late surge led by NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant turned the tables in Golden State's favor. Meanwhile, the Game 4 win for the Cavaliers needed them to set NBA Finals records for most points in a quarter (49 in the first quarter) and in a half (86 in the first half) along with 24 made 3-pointers.
It was a series that the Warriors had full control of from the get-go, and the loss in Game 4 at this point is just another source of personal motivation for Green to help his team repeat as NBA champions this upcoming season with a fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals.
