Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green recorded his new career high in assists against the Charlotte Hornets at Chase Center on Friday. The three-time NBA champion achieved the feat early in the fourth quarter, locating rookie James Wiseman for an alley-oop jam. Green finished with 19 assists, three over his previous high of 16.

Green initially attracted Hornets defenders with a strong drive to the rim. After getting Hornets' high-flyer Miles Bridges to commit on the help defense, he threw up a perfect lob to the 7-foot rookie who had great position underneath.

The second overall selection of last year's draft made sure he did not mess up the highlight and punched one in right over Jalen McDaniels.

Draymond Green is indeed one of the most unselfish playmakers in the game today. He's been criticized for his subpar averages in the 2020-21 campaign so far but is definitely playing better basketball for Golden State over their last few games. The 6-foot-6 forward finished a rebound shy of a triple-double in the Dubs' last two games.

Green has been averaging career-lows in scoring (5.5) and rebounds (5.9) in 28 games before tonight's match, but his assists are at an all-time high right now with 8.4 per game. The Warriors, meanwhile, have had great success over the years with Green handling the facilitating duties. Great things are coming for the Dubs as Green is slowly regaining his All-Star form.
