Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green not only has a fourth-year player option in his recent four-year, $100 million max extension with the team, but also a 15% trade kicker included as part of the deal, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Green might have turned down the possibility of making more money as a free agent, but he has wisely souped up his extension, considering that this is something that works in his favor and the organization's.

The 15% trade kicker will allow him to make an extra portion of his current contract at the time that he's traded, unless he decides to waive it, which means that any team that hopes to put him in conversations will have to pay a premium for his services. Stars like Anthony Davis have waived their trade kickers in the past, especially when it's them requesting the trade — but that is by no means a guarantee, especially for Green, who took a virtual discount in this deal.

Green is coming off an underwhelming regular season, but perhaps his best postseason to date — an asset that has made him incredibly valuable to the Warriors, who have now secured the core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, D'Angelo Russell, and Green for at least another three years; contractually speaking.

The 29-year-old won't be a free agent until 2023 at the latest, inking this deal with his future and legacy in mind more than the riches he can make during this stretch of his NBA career.
