The Golden State Warriors won't test players or staff for the coronavirus who aren’t showing symptoms of the respiratory illness, per Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle.
This news comes on the heels of the Philadelphia 76ers‘ announcement that three members tested positive for the coronavirus, 12 days after the 76ers traveled to Chase Center to face the Warriors:
Despite Thursday’s news that three members of the 76ers organization have tested positive for the coronavirus, the Warriors currently have no plans to test players or staff who aren’t showing symptoms of the respiratory illness.
“This situation is constantly evolving,” a team spokesman said. “But as of now, we’re not testing asymptomatic players.”

Before the NBA suspended all of its facilities on Thursday, Bob Myers and the Warriors had already completely shut down their facilities due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.
Myers said that the shutdown is forcing Warriors superstar shooting guard Klay Thompson to rehab from his ACL injury on his own. Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry had the flu a few weeks ago. Golden State was worried the two-time MVP might have contracted COVID-19, but Curry is doing fine now.
Prior to the NBA suspending play, the Warriors had the worst record in the NBA. The club was on its way to missing the playoffs for the first time in the Steve Kerr era. Kerr has been with the Warriors since 2014. He replaced Mark Jackson and helped the Dubs win three titles in five years.
