It's no secret that Draymond Green can easily get under the skin of his opponents. Being tasked to defend the other team's best players, the Golden State Warriors forward has made a living by pestering anyone who's not wearing the Dubs' colors.

Dwyane Wade was one of those on the receiving end of Green's tenacity. It's easy to assume that there's been animosity between the two stars at some point on the court. Today, as Wade enjoys his retirement, the Miami Heat legend admits to viewing one of the Warriors' leaders in a different light.

Being able to take a step back to survey the NBA landscape must have given Wade some new perspective. He already left a legacy as one of the best players ever. Now, Wade is appreciating others who are treading the same path.

Green belongs to a certain group of players who are easy to hate when he's on the opposing squad. Fortunately for Warriors fans, he's been on their side since Day 1, contributing significantly to three championship squads.

The Warriors are off to a great start this season. They own the NBA's best record, as of writing, with Klay Thompson and James Wiseman yet to see action. They've been scary good.

While Wade is no longer playing, he still holds interest in the outcome of the 2021-22 season as part-owner of the Utah Jazz. In fact, the Jazz and Warriors could very well meet each other in the postseason. When that happens, Wade may experience some relapse with his competitive fire against Green.
