Golden State Warriors stud Gary Payton Jr. recently went live with the crew of NBA TV to discuss his recent surge for the Dubs. The 28-year-old was right in the middle of the interview when his dad, Hall of Fame point guard Gary Payton, jumped in on the discussion to surprise his son.

It's always great to see proud moments between father and son and the Paytons' online reunion was no different (h/t NBA TV on Twitter):

Gary Sr. had nothing but praise for his son for what he's currently doing for the Warriors. Gary II is no superstar, but he's made a significant impact for Golden State early on in what has been an excellent start to the 2021-22 campaign for them.

The best part about the interview, however, is when Gary II shared how it was growing up in the Payton household. The Warriors guard had nothing but love for his dad and their upbringing while also acknowledging how exceptional Gary Sr. was as a basketball player during his prime. However, Gary II did not hesitate about stating his claim that right now, there is no question who the better baller is between them. Gary Sr., who will be celebrating his 54th birthday in July, no longer had any complaints about his son's bold statement.
