A move across the Bay isn't the only change happening to the Dubs experience. The Golden State Warriors' TV color commentator Jim Barnett, a veteran broadcaster for 34 years, will transition out of the visual medium and start working the radio gig as 35-year-old former Warrior Kelenna Azubuike replaces Barnett for NBC Sports Bay Area.

Azubuike spent four seasons with Golden State in the late-2000's, including competing for the “We Believe” team during the 2006-07 season.

Per a team press release:

“We think Kelenna is one of the bright, young stars in the broadcasting business,” said Warriors President and COO Rick Welts. “He’s done an outstanding job the last few seasons as a member of our pre, halftime and post-game shows on NBC Sports Bay Area, and his familiarity with our team, our players and our fans dating back to the ‘We Believe’ days will serve him well in this new role. His presence will add a new dimension to our TV broadcasts and we are thrilled with the addition.”

Azubuike left the NBA in 2012 and joined NBC Sports Bay Area—the Warriors' local coverage—in 2016. Barnett, meanwhile, will team up with play-by-play man Tim Roye on the radio.

“Jim [Barnett] has been a fixture on our broadcast team for over three decades and has served as a comforting and trusted voice for our fans during several different eras of Warriors basketball,” Welts added.

It's been a summer of many moves for the Warriors, who are welcomed in their new home arena, the Chase Center, in San Francisco for the 2019-20 season.
