The Golden State Warriors knew that Stephen Curry was about to become the franchise leader in assists. With that said, they prepared well and played a video tribute that featured his teammates and a playmaking legend.
Per Nick Friedell of ESPN, the Warriors played a video in honor of Curry's milestone. It featured his teammates Draymond Green and Klay Thompson—two players who helped him win his three titles.
Also, the Warriors got Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson to share a few words. What made it even more special was that LeBron James went out of his way to approach Curry. There is nothing like archrivals taking the time to congratulate each other. Not to mention that James is one heck of a passer, too.

Below is the record-setting assist. Curry passed Warriors legend Guy Rodgers, who stood alone on top of the list for quite some time. How long will Curry hold the record?

It's one heck of a milestone no matter how you look at it. Yes, Stephen Curry rose to superstardom due to his lethal 3-point shot and single-handedly changed how the game is played. However, the Warriors star is actually an excellent passer and playmaker.
For his career so far, Curry is averaging 6.6 assists per game. At one point, he even averaged 8.5 assists per contest!
It goes to show that Curry is more than just a shooter. Or rather, his shooting is so impressive that it grabs everyone's attention. Little do people know that Curry does a lot of things on offense.
