More injury woes haunt the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night, as guard Jacob Evans had to abruptly leave the game against the Dallas Mavericks after taking an elbow to the face.

The 22-year-old second-year player was trying to break up an alley-oop play from Luka Doncic and Dwight Powell when he accidentally collided with the Mavs center mid-air.

Replays showed that Jacob took an errant elbow right to the nose area, as he quickly grabbed his face in anguish upon landing.

Visibly dazed after the collision, Evans had to be assisted straight to the locker room of the Chase Center. He only tallied one rebound in seven minutes of action and did not return for the remainder of the contest.

The Dubs went on to lose their ninth consecutive ball game, 97-124, and have now fallen to a grim 9-33 record. Jordan Poole and Erik Paschall led the Warrior with 17 and 16 markers, respectively, while D'Angelo Russell added 13.

Golden State's defense was once again pretty much non-existent, allowing Luka Doncic to have his way with 20 points, eight boards and two dimes. Five more Mavs players finished in double figures scoring, led by Powell's 21 points.

Jacob Evans, meanwhile, has found a place in Steve Kerr's rotation that has been decimated by injuries. He has appeared in 20 games for the Warriors so far, notching 4.7 points on 31.1 percent shooting from the field and 37.0 percent from 3-point territory, to go along with 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 15.2 minutes per contest.

Golden State is in dire need of some healthy bodies this year, as superstar Stephen Curry is expected to be out at least until after the All-Star break when his wrist is expected to be evaluated. Moreover, Klay Thompson is expected to sit out the entire season with the ACL injury he sustained in the 2019 NBA Finals.
