San Francisco, CA – Tuesday night, Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson dished out a season-high six assists in a win over the Dallas Mavericks. The three-time champion made some behind-the-back passes that made the crowd go nuts, and the high-flying rookie Jonathan Kuminga was the recipient of a few of those dimes.

“Growing up watching Klay play basketball, I never really seen him pass the ball the way he did today, the Warriors forward told ClutchPoints. “So it's surprising, but just having him on the floor means a lot because he's gonna help you out a lot. People are always going to try to double Steph or Klay, and you're going to be wide open to score easily.”

The No. 7 pick in the 2021 draft by the Warriors had a team-high 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting, in 18 minutes of play. Thompson finished the game with 15 points to go along with those 6 assists, he shot 6-of-12 and knocked down 3 three-point baskets.

While Thompson was doing his best imitation of Sacramento Kings legend Jason Williams, Kuminga was putting together some highlights of his own. He was a perfect career-high 4-of-4 from three-point land and had the best dunk of his young career.

Kuminga caught a pass in transition took two dribbles and posterized the Mavs' Josh Green. The dunk made the arena go crazy, and all the rookie could do was smile.

It was the Warriors' night and they took advantage of it fully. Seven players scored in double digits and it was a win against a very good team.

Tuesday's win snapped the Warriors' four-game home losing streak to the Mavericks. Golden State and Dallas’ 2021-22 season series stands at one win each. They next play on February 27 at Chase Center.
