Former Cleveland Cavalier center Kendrick Perkins ignited a firestorm on Twitter Wednesday when he sent shots at Steve Kerr's way for his comments on the Anthony Davis trade drama.

Perkins bashed Kerr for speaking on another franchise and claimed most of the credit for building the Golden State franchise should go to Mark Jackson, not Kerr. Perkins would then double down and said that Jackson was not fired because of his coaching ability but because of his faith.

This is a serious accusation from the big man. Interestingly enough, he is not the first NBA player to claim that Jackson was blackballed from the league.

In an appearance on the well-known radio show ‘The Breakfast Club', former Warriors star and Finals MVP Andre Iguodala also claimed that Jackson was being kept out of the league for his religious views.

Perkins does have a point that Mark Jackson had a hand in forming the roster that would go on to win three championships. However, with a similar roster, he was never able to take the Warriors past the Western Conference Semifinals.

Additionally, there is no denying that Steve Kerr is a great coach. The Warriors have raved about him and his leadership since day one, and it's no easy feat to win three championships no matter who is on your roster.

Regardless, Perkins is entitled to his opinion. Hopefully, he's wrong about Jackson's blackballing and his firing was purely a business decision.
