Kevin Durant was utterly humble after swatting a career-high seven shots agains the Sacramento Kings during a 125-123 win on Thursday night. Five of those seven blocks came against rookie big man Marvin Bagley III, who was given a quick lesson on finishing in the paint as the offensive machine racked up one rejection after another:

“Oh, I just got lucky and I think Marvin Bagley being a rookie and just showing me the ball in the first quarter, I was just swiping,” said Kevin Durant. “Undisciplined type defense, but I was seeing the ball right in my face and I got five of those and I guess that's how I got seven blocks.”

A follow-up question would soon arise, asking him of a potential back-and-forth between him and Bagley, who got a foul call on a rip-through move on Durant, the godfather of said call.

The recently named All-Star MVP put a quick stop to that question, to the laughter of present media:

“That wasn't a back-and-forth. Five blocks to one rip move?”

Bagley would soon take notice and reply via Twitter:

Durant's ruthless play on the defensive end was a major part of why the Warriors avoided an upset by the Kings, who led most of the second quarter and throughout the third, before surrendering the lead in the final minutes of the game.

Bagley had yet another strong outing against Durant and the defending champions with 28 points and 14 rebounds off the bench, following up a 20-point, 17-rebound monster game in his first outing against them.

Needless to say, we're all here for a potential rematch between these two if the Kings can muster the eighth and last seed in the Western Conference. Sacramento is currently a game and a half out of that final spot.
