Kevin Durant continues to climb the ladder by surpassing another legend on the NBA's all-time scoring list. The Golden State Warriors superstar moved past Boston Celtics great Larry Bird in their 110-93 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.

Durant tied Bird's scoring record with a 12-foot jumper late in the first quarter. The former NBA Most Valuable Player then broke the tie with two free-throw conversions with 41.4 seconds left in the second period:

The 30-year-old superstar forward ended up with 23 points in 33 minutes. He is now 33rd on the all-time scoring list with 21,806 points. Bird previously held the 33rd spot with 21,791 career points.

Durant could eclipse another legend in their next game. He is now just seven points away from tying Gary Payton's scoring record. If he moves past Payton in their next game, his next target would be Clyde Drexler, who scored 22,195 points in his 15-year NBA career.

The 12-year veteran is tipped to become one of the league's all-time leading scorers. Earlier this year, the former Texas standout became the youngest player to score 20,000 points.

According to USA TODAY Sports, if he stays healthy, he would need to average 25 points a game before his 39th birthday to become the all-time leading scorer. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds the scoring record with 38,387 points. However, when asked about breaking the record, Durant previously said he is not focused on it:

“I mean it would be cool to do that, but I’m not concerned about that, man,” Durant said. “If I start focusing on that, it’s going to take my focus on what I really want to do.”

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James could also break Kareem's record. He is currently fifth on the list with 31,869 points behind Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and Kareem.
