The Golden State Warriors were looking to bounce back after their disappointing 92-88 loss to the Boston Celtics on Thursday night. Needless to say, things got off to a slow start after the Philadelphia 76ers caught fire early by dropping 47 points in the first quarter.

However, Golden State still managed to erase a 24-point deficit thanks to dominant performances from their two biggest superstars in Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Durant had high praise for rookie phenom Ben Simmons following the 124-116 victory over the Sixers:

“He's something that I've never seen before as (really) playing the point guard. That height, that speed, and that strength,” Durant said. “You can tell he's Aussie too, he doesn't mind getting into some scuffles and showing his feisty side. That's going to mean well for the Sixers down the line.”

Budding superstar Joel Embiid has largely drawn most of the headlines regarding the Sixers. However, Simmons continues to prove why he is hands down the best rookie with yet another spectacular performance after recording 23 points, 12 assists, and eight rebounds.

Durant's praise certainly carries some weight after being considered the next prototype of what an NBA scorer looks like. It may seem as though Simmons could do the same for the next generation of point guards.
