Kevin Durant is widely regarded as one of the best players in the NBA. In fact, he is often in competition with LeBron James for being the league's best player. Unlike most of the NBA's top talents, Durant is the league's most lethal scorer. With his intimidating length and quickness, Durant can score in a variety of ways that completely stagnated opposing defenses.

In the 2017 NBA Finals, Durant outplayed James on the way to his first championship. The Cavaliers simply had no reliable way of slowing him down, and he captured the 2017 Finals MVP as a result. Regardless of if you are a fan of Durant or not, you have to accept that he is among the league's best. Nonetheless, apparent not all individuals or media outlets believe that Durant is a top player.

Bleacher Report surmised that Durant was having the 10th best season in the NBA this year, based on one of their metrics. Former NBA star Mychal Thompson was furious with the rating, completely misunderstanding the meaning, and took to Twitter to express his opinion.

According to Bleacher Report…based on NBA METRICS…Get THIS…Kevin Durant…Kevin FREEKING Durant is the TENTH best player in the World…HaHaHaHaHaHaHa…HaaaHaHaHaHa…And THATS why we DONT use the Metric system in America…WHO came up with THAT dumb rating?

Let’s just stick to yards feet n inches over HERE…No Metric system…Not after THAT stupid Bleacher Report

Thompson does have a valid point. There are some analytics that don't fully tell what a player is fully capable of. But this was not one of those and Thompson should do his homework before going on a Twitter rant in the future.
