Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen doesn't think Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has done enough to claim the “best defender of all time” title.

Following their win against the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, Green was asked who he thinks is the best defender ever. Without any hesitation, Green insisted that he believes he is on top of that category.

However, in an appearance on ESPN's ‘The Jump,' Pippen made an argument why Green cannot claim that he's the best. Pippen said that while Green is a tremendous defender who does a lot of things on the defensive end for the Dubs, he is largely considered as a team defender.

The now 53-year-old basketball icon furthered that it speaks volume on how Green is not often tasked to guarding the best player on the opposing team.

Pippen looked back at the recent NBA Finals showdowns between the Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He said that Green was not even given the job as the primary defender for LeBron James.

Scottie undoubtedly makes a good point about the weight of Green's “best defender” claim. It might still be too early for Green to say that he's the best of all time, though there's no doubt that he will go down as one of the most impactful defenders that the game has ever seen.
