Stephen Curry has seen Oklahoma point guard Trae Young play, and he’s a fan. According to ESPN, the Golden State Warriors star called the Sooners’ freshman sensation “unbelievable.”

“Just the confidence that he plays with,” Curry said regarding Young. “I call it the flair, but it seems like he's always composed and knows what he's trying to do every time he has the ball in his hands. He shoots a lot of deep 3s and has a creativity to his game that's just so fluid to watch.”

Young has emerged as one of the big stars in college basketball this season, not to mention one of the hottest pro prospects. He leads the nation in both scoring (29.4 points per game) and assists (10.6 per game), with his overall game drawing some comparisons to the two-time MVP.

As it turns out, Young admitted in an interview with The Wall Street Journal this week that he looks up to Curry and has used him as an inspiration in his basketball development. He particularly gravitated toward Curry’s ability to shoot from way beyond the arc or get to the rim almost at will, which was a similar style to how he wanted to play.
