Although the Golden State Warriors are still in title contention, they are looking back on the championships they have previously one. The Dubs dominated the NBA playoffs like few teams ever have during the middle-to-end of the 2010s.
On Draymond Green’s podcast, he talked about the Warriors’ title runs with Stephen Curry. The conversation turned into a claim from Green that the Golden State team that won 73 regular-season games would have undoubtedly been the best team ever if they had finished the job in the NBA Finals. Green conceded that that team is the second-best team ever.
The only team in NBA history better than the 73-win Warriors team, per Green, is the Warriors team from the following year. Curry concurs.
Would @StephenCurry30 & @Money23Green trade two of their titles to complete the 73-9 season with a championship? pic.twitter.com/tdOY6pDdO0

The 2016-17 Warriors were indeed a tremendously talented team. Adding Kevin Durant to the same core that won 73 games made the Dubs an unfair team. Although they won only 67 games in the regular season, they lost only a single playoff game en route to winning the title.
So much has changed since then that it feels like that team was of another era. The Warriors underwent two brutal seasons after Durant left for the Brooklyn Nets in free agency. Golden State is still led by Curry, Green and Klay Thompson — they even still have Kevon Looney and, after trading him, re-signed Andre Iguodala — but other key contributors like Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole are now looking to help the Dubs capture another title.
The Warriors have a first-round series against the Denver Nuggets on deck. Curry is dealing with a foot injury but should be able to play.
