Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors were absolutely pummeled by the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. The Mavs pounded the Dubs early on, outscoring them 36-12 in the first period alone. As it turns out, the Warriors made one crucial mistake entering the matchup.

As admitted by Golden State head coach Steve Kerr, his team had actually skipped practice for an entire week prior to Tuesday's tilt (h/t Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle):

We absolutely agree with coach Kerr here when he says that the season has been grueling for the Warriors. Then again, the same can be said for literally every other team in the league.

We can't really say that it was a good idea for the Dubs to skip practice — for a full week no less. This probably would have been a stroke of genius from the three-time champion coach if his Warriors pulled off the victory against the Mavs. However, the exact opposite happened, and it was clear which team was more prepared on Tuesday. Not even Steph's hot hand could save the Warriors against Dallas.

Dallas took an early lead and they never looked back. The final score ended 133-103 in an embarrassing defeat for the Warriors. Golden State continues to play catch-up as they look to secure a playoff spot in a ruthless Western Conference. It looks like this is going to go down the wire for the Dubs, so it remains to be seen if coach Kerr will continue with his unconventional approach here.

For what it's worth, Allen Iverson would love to be in this situation right now.
