Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, considered to be one of the greatest shooters in NBA history, is now entering the entertainment arena.

As reported by Marisa Guthrie of The Hollywood Reporter, Curry has inked a deal with Sony Pictures. The contract is a development deal with Curry's new production company, Unanimous Media — named after his unanimous MVP year in 2016.

In a statement, Curry said:

“I’ve been blessed to have this platform and I want to use it to affect the world positively,” Curry said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Partnering with Sony to share inspiring content with a global audience was a foregone conclusion.”

The deal will cover TV and film platforms. Its programs will revolve around family-friendly themes, faith, as well as sports-related projects. It will also cover gaming and virtual reality worlds.

Sony, for their part, said in a statement:

“Steph is a transcendent figure in current culture. His wide-ranging content creation interests overlap well with our varied businesses and we have been equally impressed with his team,” Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group chairman Tom Rothman said in a statement. “We are honored to have been drafted and now we know how lucky Golden State feels every day.”

The Warriors guard is the latest NBA star to ink a deal with a big entertainment studio. LeBron James, back in 2015, partnered with Warner Bros. to form “Uninterrupted” — an athlete-driven content. It aims to bridge the gap between athletes and fans. Kobe Bryant, also partnered with ESPN in 2016 to direct and write a “Canvas” series.
