Stephen Curry has maintained a close relationship with his beloved mentor and former Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson.

Before Steve Kerr, the Warriors were coached by Mark Jackson. In his three-year stint with the Dubs, Jackson developed a strong bond with Stephen Curry and it seems to be a lasting one as well.

During the Warriors' recent 126-85 thumping of the New Orleans Pelicans, Jackson was courtside as a commentator. Curry, meanwhile, who finished the game with two blocks to his name, knew exactly how to acknowledge the presence of his former coach, and joked about not being able to block shots during Jackson's time with the Warriors.

“Yeah man, sometimes you just have the good timing in the right place at the right time,” Curry said of his two blocks after the game via NBC Sports. “But I actually looked at Mark [Jackson]. I said I couldn’t do that when he was the coach here, so he had a good laugh out of that when he was on the sideline.”

On a more serious note, the two-time NBA scoring champ went on to emphasize the need to intensify the Warriors' defense, “especially” in the backcourt.

“For me and [Jordan Poole], especially if we’re in the backcourt together, until Klay gets back and even when he is back, we have to do our part to play position defense, be aggressive on the ball and allow [Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, Draymond Green] and our bench to do what they do defensively,” Curry pointed out.
