The 2022 Oscars took an absolutely wild turn after Will Smith slapped the living hell out of Chris Rock. After delivering a tasteless, awful joke that wasn't even funny, Smith felt the need to commit assault on live television to defend his wife. There are no real winners from the altercation, but Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry found the only good part that came of it.

Late Sunday night, Curry took to Twitter to react to the situation. He points out the message Denzel Washington gave Will Smith, which is advice everyone needs to hear. The Warriors' guard took it to heart, as it's certainly a message many will remember forever.

Should Chris Rock have made that horrible JI Jane joke? No. Should Will Smith have committed assault on live television? No. Neither celebrity looks good in this outcome so it's important to take the good from the bad. Denzel Washington gave one of the best messages anyone has ever heard to Smith, which is what the Warriors guard points out.

According to Variety, Chris Rock has “declined to file a police report following an altercation with Will Smith at the 94th Academy Awards.” So, that likely means many will simply move on with their lives after what transpired at the Oscars. Unsurprisingly, there will be a rather large elephant in the room whenever Chris Rock and Will Smith share the same space.

As for Stephen Curry and the Warriors, they'll move on as well as they turn their attention on the upcoming NBA Playoffs. They currently reside in third place in the Western Conference and have a legitimate chance to win another championship this year.
