Following the huge announcement made by the NBA on the changes that the league office will implement on the All-Star game format, many have given their thumbs up for the proactive approach as they feel that the change will benefit fans the most, by having a more competitive exhibition game.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr though has some tweaks in mind which he feels could provide more improvement, via Nick Friedell of ESPN.

“I think it really would have been interesting if they would have picked 24 All-Stars total,” Kerr said. “And not necessarily made it 12 from each side. If they really wanted to do it and get the 24 best players, maybe that would have been the way to go, but I respect the fact that the league is looking to alter the format, trying to make it better. I think it's good.”

The changes were made stemming from All-Star Games over the past couple of seasons where it has become a dunk-fest, with no defense for most of the match. Unlike in the past where players played mostly for pride and bragging rights, today's All-Star Game has, unfortunately, steered away from that.

It's a great sign to see how the NBA has taken a proactive hand on areas that obviously needed work — from the draft changes to the All-Star Game selection process.
