For Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, the chaotic 2019-20 season that saw the Dubs claim the worst record in the league and miss the NBA's bubble restart has its benefits — particularly for Draymond Green.

With this season being a lost campaign, the Warriors were able to cut back on Green's playing time and overall workload throughout the year. Considering that, Kerr believes that the extra rest will pave the way for the former Defensive Player of the Year to have his best season yet in 2020-21.

“He made it through, and he is getting a much-needed rest,” Steve Kerr said of Draymond Green on KNBR's “Tolbert, Kreuger and Brooks” Podcast, per NBC Sports.

“And I think we're going to see the very best version of Draymond next year, whenever next season starts. I feel really good about where he's going to be mentally and physically.”

That's definitely a bold prediction coming from the three-time champion coach. At 30 years old, many believe that Green's best days are behind him. It also doesn't help that his numbers for the Warriors have regressed over the past few years, especially this season when he turned in averages of 8.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists in 43 games.

However, it is worth noting that much of his decrease in production can be attributed to Kevin Durant's arrival at the Bay in 2016. With Durant gone, the Warriors will lean on their Swiss Army Knife much more once again. They still view Green as one of their key pieces as they look to re-enter the title picture next season.

It won't take long to look back on how Green can still be an major force when given a sizable role. Through the final two rounds of the 2019 postseason, Green put up averages of 14.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, 9.1 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.7 blocks. That's elite production right there.
