The mystery surrounding Stephen Curry's eventual return to the court has seen many conflicting arguments for the Golden State Warriors. Head coach Steve Kerr announced he'd be out for the next three weeks, pending re-evaluation, while Curry offered he feels he'd be able to play by the first round of the playoffs, which Kerr had noted he would miss in its entirety.

Kerr set the record straight when it comes to his recovery timetable on Monday morning.

“We're not gonna bring him back until he's ready,” said Kerr. “We'll re-evaluate in three weeks, which we will, and in my mind, you don't re-evaluate and say ‘oh, he's good — I know he hasn't practiced in three weeks, but go ahead, start the playoffs.'”

“We gotta protect Steph from himself, make sure he's good and healthy and goes through the whole process of rehab and core work. Steph's gonna wanna come back, because that's who he is.”

Curry has dealt with a slew of injuries, as have the Warriors, playing in only 51 games this season — but the Warriors have won a series without him in the past and feel confident they can pull through without his services.

Yet the challenge remains in keeping Curry level-headed and getting him back in full strength with hopes he can help his team to the best of his skills.

A three-week timetable would put his re-evaluation right at the start of the postseason, while the last stages would involve core work and contact practices to see if he's ready to perform in-game.
