Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says the door is still open for guard Patrick McCaw to return to the team.

McCaw is still a restricted free agent after turning down two contract offers from the Warriors. He wasn't with the club on opening night to receive his championship ring from last season and has reportedly been avoiding communication with teammates.

In 57 regular-season games last year, Patrick McCaw averaged 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 40.9 percent from the field, 23.8 percent from beyond the arc and 76.5 percent from the free-throw line. He did suffer a gruesome back injury and missed a bevy of games as a result.

McCaw was spotted working out in a St. Louis high school gym on opening night. McCaw is from the St. Louis area.

As a restricted free agent, Golden State can match any offer sheet Patrick McCaw signs with another team. As of now, though, no other teams in the league have shown interest in him.

This is definitely a very strange saga. Why wouldn't McCaw want to play for the best team in the NBA? Maybe he is going through some personal things that we don't know of, but to be ignoring teammates and working out in a high school gym while your teams play on national television, is not something we have seen before.
