Steve Kerr noted a big difference from the last time his Golden State Warriors took on the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena, noting the atmosphere was a lot more “civil” upon Kevin Durant's return to his old stomping grounds.

“I didn't really pay much attention to it, it was loud in there and it always is here, it's one of the best crowds in the league,” said Kerr. “They cheered for their team, it seemed pretty civil compared to last year.”

“It was all good and they deserved to win, their crowd deserved to get the joy that they got out of it. The right thing happened tonight.”

Durant walked into a sea of boos and heckles when entering the Thunder's arena for the first time since choosing to join the Warriors in 2016.

From cupcake cutouts to signs reading “snake” or “coward” to some choice words for the former Thunder star, Durant had seen a completely hostile environment. He responded with 34 points and a landslide win last season, but wouldn't see the same fate on Wednesday night.

The crowd received him in a much more forgiving way, and that sense of truce propelled the Thunder's Big Three to come away with the win.
