Tuesday night, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry surpassed future NBA Hall of Fame guard Ray Allen with the most three pointers made in NBA history with 2,974. Curry broke the record at the ‘Mecca of Basketball,' Madison Square Garden of all places.

After Curry hit the record-breaking shot, there was a timeout on the floor. Curry jogged back fired up as the crowd exploded. After hugging his father, Del Curry, he walked up and shared an emotional moment with Ray Allen.

Curry and Allen hugged and shared some words together. After pulling away for a moment, they went back in for another hug.

The game was aired on TNT, with Reggie Miller broadcasting. Miller was once the record holder with 2,560 three's until Allen passed him 10 years ago.

Now, it is Stephen Curry's time. Curry is widely regarded as the greatest shooter in NBA history.

Stephen Curry was able to break the record, playing in 789 games to this point in his career. It took Ray Allen 1,300 career games to set his mark. The efficiency and consistency to excellence from Curry is astounding.

Curry is having one of the best seasons of his career. He holds the records for most 3's in a season with 402. He is on pace for 440 this season as the Warriors have ascended back to being one of the elite teams in the game.

Entering Tuesday, the Warriors have the best record in the NBA at 22-5. Needless to say, Curry is the impetus that has led to Golden State's emergence atop the league once again.
