There are only a handful of players in NBA history who actually changed the game.

First, there was Wilt Chamberlain. When he stepped on the scene, it was clear he was on a different level. The league then had to widen the lane in attempting to keep him from unfairly just camping down low. It's not his fault he was so big and more gifted than anyone. Then even outlawed inbounding the ball over the backboard because it was simply too easy for him to score that way.

Later, Dr. Julius Erving changed the dynamic of high-flyers dominating the league. Prior to Erving, big men like Chamberlain had won 23 of the 25 league MVP's. Once Erving arrived, that all changed and a shift in the game then took place. Big men had not won an MVP award in 11 years until Giannis Antetokounmpo won it a couple of years ago. Erving paved the way for other high flyers like Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins and Vince Carter.

The most recent player to change the way the game is played is Stephen Curry.

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is widely considered the greatest shooter in NBA history. He has some of the better ball-handling skills we have ever seen. When defenders realized early in his career he could shake them off the dribble, they started playing off of him a bit. That's when Curry went to work showing off his true skill.

He began consistently taking and making shots from deeper than we have ever seen.

It's almost as though Steph Curry knew he could hit shots from anywhere on the floor. Three is a bigger number than two. So why not just shoot from out here all the time. So, he did. Now, the Warriors star has hit more 3-pointers than anyone in NBA history, breaking Ray Allen's record with 2,974.

Curry accomplished that feat in just over half the games that Allen played during his storied career. That is astounding.

However, there was one player in his career Curry was not dropping treys over. That is NBA legend, the late Kobe Bryant.

The Athletic posted an article breaking down every type of shot Curry hit, over whom he hit it, when he hit it, etc.

Of his almost 3,000 3-pointers made during his illustrious career, only one was made of the Lakers great. On the flip side, Curry has sank more over poor Mike Conley than anyone with 35. Damian Lillard ranks 2nd on that list with 33.

A lot has been made of the special connection between Curry and Warriors teammate Draymond Green. Well, maybe that's because Green likes to feed the beast. Green has assisted on just under 500 of Curry's 3's, which is more than three times anyone else.

The data also shows that Steph Curry really likes to fire away coming out of the locker room. He has made more three's in the 3rd quarter than any other with a little under 950. That's followed by the first quarter with just under 900 from downtown.

Of all his opponents, Curry has sank the most triples against the Los Angeles Clippers because why not. It's the Clippers.

It is because of his shooting prowess that we now see players like Devin Booker, Damian Lillard and Trae Young shooting from 30 feet. That is Curry's effect on the game and his imprint will be left on the game forever.
