Golden State Warriors center Willie Cauley-Stein appears determined to make an impact for his new team in the 2019-20 NBA season.

Willie Cauley-Stein posted a workout video on his Twitter account, where he declared that he is about to give opposing players hell next season. In the video he posted, the 25-year-old center was seen working on his mid-range game. He was also shown in what appears to be a drill to develop his ability to attack off the dribble.

The former Kentucky standout will start a new chapter in his young NBA career after signing with the Warriors. Willie Cauley-Stein accepted a two-year deal worth $4.46 million with a player option in the second year of the contract. He is expected to play significant minutes behind projected starting center Kevon Looney.

The four-year center took less money in the hope of boosting his stock by helping the Warriors bounce back next season. The Warriors lost to the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals after getting hit by major injuries.

Willie Cauley-Stein, the sixth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, spent the first four seasons of his career with the Sacramento Kings. He averaged double digits in scoring in the last two seasons – 12.8 points in 2018 and 11.9 last season. He also posted career-high marks — 8.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals — last season.

The Warriors hope that Cauley-Stein can help the Dubs in areas where the team has lacked strength in recent seasons: bench depth, low-post defense, rebounding, and rim deterrence created by imposing length which is hard to handle for opposing players on drives or dives to the basket. We will see if Cauley-Stein becomes a critical piece to the Warriors' puzzle.
